§ 12.04.040. Superintendent of streets authorized to suspend permit.

  • Anything in Ordinance 3597 of the county of Los Angeles to the contrary notwithstanding, the superintendent of streets for the city shall have the authority to suspend forthwith any permit or other authorization issued pursuant hereto pending appropriate proceedings as otherwise provided herein whenever, in the opinion of the superintendent of streets, such an action is required for the maintenance of traffic movement or public safety for traffic movement, and to insure that any public street, highway or other right-of-way is open at all times to at least a single lane of traffic; provided, however, that the foregoing power with respect to such single lane of traffic shall not be exercised if there is a city permit expressly authorizing the omission of any such single lane of traffic.
