§ 2.38.020. Transition period.

In accordance with § 10403.5 of the California Elections Code, the term of any Duarte Elected Official that would have expired upon certification of the election results from a November 2017 election shall be extended, and instead shall expire upon certification of the election results from the November 2018 general municipal election as established by this chapter, or as otherwise may be provided in Elections Code § 10403.5. In accordance with § 10403.5 of the California Elections Code, the term of any elected official that would have expired upon certification of the election results from a November 2019 election shall be extended and instead shall expire upon certification of the election results from the November 2020 general municipal election as established by this chapter, or as otherwise may be provided in Elections Code § 10403.5.
